A little splurge…
I headed to Target today and decided to check out the baby boy clothes. It took me a few minutes to get started; I’ve only barely shopped for little boys before! Once I got on a role looking at rompers and sleepers in odd colors with no ruffles, I was hooked!
I had to walk away. But not before we picked up this to take home:
Best Little Brother? Of course! We couldn’t walk away without it!
And it’s a two-piece set. I don’t like real bugs, but cute cartoony ones work for me. :)
Then Joanna said “take a picture of me doing this.” She really is a diva.
I just had to buy my little man his first outfit! I’m looking forward to Baby Daze in September to look through even more boy clothes!
I keep forgetting...

80’s Flashback
So today I’d completely forgotten about the prego shot Matt took of me yesterday so I had my mom take another set this morning!
The “sitting on Baby Brother” pictures:
Natalie is holding the Dora backpack here because she just wouldn’t let it go!
Today my mom tried crimping Joanna’s hair.
Apparently she was quite a diva about it, too. :)
Even though it’s very frizzy and fluffy, I think it looks cute when the front is pulled back in a ponytail.
When it was loose, though – crazy hair!
Can you tell what Joanna’s doing here? She told me just where to stand and she stood to the side. She wanted me to take her picture just like I take my prego shot every week. :)
Oh I love that kid!
(The fluff that’s in front of her is the top of Natalie’s head and her unruly hair.) The humidity is wreaking havoc on the Pence girls!
As the day went on, Joanna’s hair got bigger and crazier. It was pretty fun to look at. :)
Over the river and through the woods…
To Grandmother’s house we go!
We spent the evening at Grandma’s house yesterday. My cousin Josh’s girlfriend’s son, Sean (I’m just assuming that’s how his name is spelled?) is in town with his mom and Josh for Andy’s wedding this weekend. (Whoa, what a run-on sentence.)
He’s six and was so sweet with my girls! He pulled Joanna around in the wagon. She didn’t smile, but being her mom, I could tell she was having a BLAST!
Then Joanna tried to pull him. She was able to do it in a straight line for a few feet. :)
Natalie wanted in on the fun too.
She pushed it instead.
The girls were pretty grungy at the end of the day yesterday. They had sunscreen from backyard swimming at Lisa’s and bug spray and dirt from Grandma’s house. Bath time for sure!
Ultrasound Day
I decided we needed a picture on the outside the same day we got pictures on the inside.
19 weeks, 1 day
Just cause she’s so cute. There would have been one of Natalie too, but the camera died and had to go on the charger.
The girls made it through much of the ultrasound, but Matt took them out to walk around after the big news. I found them here. Natalie’s reading the paper. :)
I had meetings at the church afterward so the girls went to Lisa’s house to play. I opened the car door to put my bags in when I saw this. It just seemed extra poignant since we found out we’re having a boy. :)

It’s a BOY!!
Sorry kid, but here’s the graphic shot. :)
It was very clear!
Here are his legs.
The next three pics are his feet. Aren’t they so cute?!
And his precious face!
The tech wasn’t sure she’d be able get a good view of the spine because he was laying on his back, but I guess he moved around enough.
He was actually moving all over the place during the ultrasound. I’m just not really feeling it yet!
We are so excited! No, we don’t have a name and no, we have no idea what we’re going to do with a boy!! :)
