The Swimdress!

Back in this post I wrote about a swimdress I was thinking about getting.  I noticed on their site that they were clearancing the little girls versions, so I ordered one to fit Joanna!

It came today, and I think it’s soooo cute!

P1310346

It’s sturdier than I thought it would be, and she didn’t want to take it off.  She said it was very comfortable.  She’s got some room to grow in it, but because it’s one piece, it doesn’t fall off her little hips.

I didn’t order one for Natalie at the time because I wanted to see how this one fit Joanna first.  Since it’s got growing room in it, I feel comfortable now ordering a 2 for Natalie (Joanna’s is a 4).  So I did!  I ordered mine as well.  They have some cute patterns, but I opted for black.  I think that will be more slimming as well as more versatile for me.  Here’s the site if you’re interested.  The girls suits are in the “closeout” tab, and for the women’s suits, you have to click “online store” on the homepage.  While not the original suit I was planning to get, this is the one I opted for:

I think it’s going to have support where I need it, if you catch my drift… more than the other one would have.  I took their advice on sizing (I sent an email asking questions), even though that particular letter makes me sad.  :)  They did say I could exchange it if it is too big.  I don’t know which I’m hoping for, the hassle of an exchange or having to wear that letter.  Hee hee.

Joanna

Joanna LOVES to hold her baby brother and will do so whenever anyone lets her (and probably some other times too).

I think the look on James’ face here is kind of hilarious. He looks very worried about his situation.

I am absolutely in love with this beautiful face! She is so gorgeous! Can anyone else see the mischief behind her eyes though?

These next few are from our most recent visit to the dentist. She’s such an old pro!

We get compliments every visit on how well she does for her age! (I’m thinking that Miss Natalie is not going to get so many comments though.)

P1180259

She wanted to play dentist with the baby doll and a big toothbrush. I made her get down as I was a little worried about all the equipment.

P1180261

She used this chair instead. Smile

Got to brush the teeth of this strange character…

And the dinosaur.

No x-rays this time, but things looked good. We’ll go back in the fall and have x-rays then. I figure we’ll also bring Natalie for her first visit at that time. Last year we didn’t have coverage for the kids since it was just Joanna that needed to go. Once you add one kid you might as well add all three (same cost), so this year everyone is covered, even if they don’t have any teeth.

Missy Joanna dumped most of her toys on the floor the other morning. I think she was playing recycling. Fortunately my mom was on the way to pick her up so she had incentive to pick them ALL up. No clean-up, no errands with Gran!

She hollerin’ at me from time out right now – oh that child can try my patience! I sure do love her though. I can’t believe she’ll be FOUR in just a few weeks!

A Few More Family Pics

These are left over from my Dad, Step-mom, and sister’s visit a couple of weeks ago.  I’m pretty sure I took these pics with Renee’s camera as well.

Natalie and Popo.  Here deep, burning love for this book has diminished a tiny bit in the many days since then, but this was still at the point that if you were sitting down, she was sitting down with you with this book.

The Kindle Came!

Right around Natalie’s birthday, the Kindle came!  I was coming home just as the delivery man (Fed Ex, I think?) was driving up, so he put it in my hot little hands!  It was a Wednesday.  Smile

Isn’t is pretty?!  My first thought was that this screen was a peelie.  But it isn’t!  That’s what the text looks like.

P1120241

I knew that it had “e-ink” technology, but I guess I didn’t really know what that meant.

P1120242

It really does look like a page from a book!

I’ve been enjoying it very much the last couple of weeks.  I reread Little Women on it (free!) and am continuing with Little Men now.  Tomorrow a NEW book I haven’t read (and actually will pay for) comes out on Kindle, so I’m excited about that!  I actually preordered it, and when I turn it on tomorrow, it will automatically deliver it.  I think that’s pretty fancy.  Smile

I also downloaded a free Bible version (ESV, I think) and I like it pretty well.  It’s reasonably easy to look things up, and the version doesn’t seem too far off from what I’m used to.  Eventually I may download another version, but so far I’m happy with this one.  I’m trying to remember to always have my Kindle in my purse when I leave the house, so this means I will always have a Bible with me as well.

I have a ton more free classics loaded on the Kindle.  As long as I have it with me, I won’t be without something to read!  Of course, with three children, I don’t have that problem as much as I used to.

Okay… I lied.

But this really is the last post from Baptism day.  After the service David and Renee took a bunch of pictures.

The girls sure love their Uncle Andy!

A nice couple of pictures of Andy and Christiana:

Isn’t she the cutest?!

IMG_1690IMG_1691

Yup, the cutest (well, aside from her brother and sister, who are also as cute)

James was ready for his bed!

A couple pictures of the family that made it out for the baptism.  Uncle Steve was there too, but he must have left before this.

A great day for sure!

Last Post from Baptism Day

Baptism finished, James settled in for a nap.  I love sitting and holding my sleeping baby.

IMG_1652IMG_9927IMG_9931

I love this one!  Not because my mouth is so attractively open (I was singing), but because of Matt’s hands in the foreground.

IMG_9934

It was a really lovely morning at church, and after the service we went out with Dad and Renee for Chinese buffet!  Yummo!!

The Children’s Sermon

At this point, my girls’ favorite part of the Children’s sermon is getting to go on the “stage” and sit in front of everyone.  They’re so shy.  Smile

Joanna’s motioning to her sister to come on up.  (Natalie doesn’t usually go to church with us yet, so this was pretty new!)

She’s either feeling a little tired or a little insecure (or both) because the thumb went in!

IMG_9918

Look – you can see them looking at Miss Ellen, clearly engaged in the lesson.  Smile

IMG_9921

Actually most lessons are over their head, but Joanna still does get something out of it, and the rest will come.

IMG_9925

This week she was talking about how the church is not a building, it’s the people.  Perfect!
