Hee hee, just kidding. We’ve had a good week. :) It’s funny though, the kids are already asking to go back to school. They could feel on Monday that they should have been getting ready for school on Tuesday. At least one of them asked where their lunch was. Natalie’s been asking for Miss Anne and Miss Joan.
I’m trying not to take it personally. :)
I’ve been collecting some “school” or quiet time kind of activities for the girls. I have a few that they both like, even though they may be more “developmentally appropriate” for one or the other.

She’s a genius. :) I need to print the next set, with higher numbers. She’s got these single digits down! She had fun with it.
Today Joanna (with her buds Anna and Emma) started her next set of swim lessons.

Afterward we went to Lisa’s for lunch and playing.
My Joanna sure knows how to dress up.
Lisa said she could borrow this costume, so we brought it home and she spent most of the afternoon in it. :)

And tonight we had enchilada night!!
I brought Cheerios and some pureed food (carrots, rice, and applesauce). James was all about the Cheerios, of course, but only would tolerate a few bites of the puree. Oh, well!
Grandma had just opened a can of peas though, and I let him have some.
They were a hit!
And yes, that’s a big ol’ blob of snot coming out of his nose. Ew, right?
It was a fluke that I caught Matt with his mouth open so wide in this next shot. He told me to take another, but I said I could crop it.
I did not say I would crop it though.
I still think he’s handsome.
lol, he definitely looks like he's enjoying his enchiladas! I'm super impressed with your girls and how nicely they play. You wouldn't know what to do with my children.
ReplyDeleteToday I put a giant piece of paper on the table and taped it down and let them use stickers and crayons to decorate a father's day sign for AJ while I nursed Tim for 10 min. I was in the living room, about 10 feet away, but when I finished with Tim and went over there, about 2/3 of the crayons were on the floor (big ol' box of them!), both were covered in stickers, Sam had colored on the paper, stickers, table (the small parts that were showing from under the giant paper), and the floor... in several spots... sigh. And that's when they have something constructive and fun to do!! I wish they would sit and play somewhat quietly, and sometimes they will, if they're separated... but not if they're together.
Occasionally I'm jealous of your children... and how organized you are and how much you accomplish! CDing, grinding your own flour, baking your own bread, cooking meals way in advance, and having educational games for your children (which survive in one piece!). It would be nice not to have to yell at my kids not to rip this, smash that, or stop coloring/painting/coating with food something else. One day... I hope...
Sorry this is long, rambly, and whiney... my house is a huge wreck today, and I was not motivated to clean it at all. I really am super glad you have a hubby who's able to be home every evening and on the weekends and kids who are sweet and non-destructive, I promise!!
