I took 50+ pics, but I pared it down to about 17 for this post. Consider yourselves lucky! :)
We went to the same spot we found last year in the back of Kingwood. By the time we went last year, they were kind of crispy, but we got there pretty early in bluebonnet season this year. They were beautiful and abundant!
Don't be confused; this was last year. Check out Joanna at 13 months:

This is kind of a forlorn look :(
She may not look super excited, but she loved wandering through the bluebonnets. And I don't care what you may see in the pictures, she wouldn't dare pick one.
I was a little worried about all the bees, but they didn't bother us one bit. I'm not sure I'd recommend this venture to someone who was allergic, but they just stayed out of our way.
Joanna thought the little pieces of dead grass and sticks were very fun.
An attempt at putting Natalie in the bluebonnets. What was hard with her was the sun being right overhead. We'll have to go back in the late afternoon for some better lighting.

As we were leaving, a woman we know from church showed up with her two girls and her mom! Great minds...

How cute! I'm really kind of hoping that there are still some in May when we come home (hopefully), but I'm not counting on it...I'd love to get some of the boys in the bluebonnets together...we missed them last year, too...left Germany too late, so it will probably be too late this year, as well, but one can hope.
