I'm Back!!

Into the land of the living, that is. Oh, I have been so sick this week! I'm not well yet, but soooooo much closer than the past few days.
The following is a long boring story about my sick week. I'll post pictures of the girls soon, but you won't find any at the bottom of this post!
I woke up up Monday morning with a slightly uncomfortable throat, but nothing else wrong. The girls and I actually hit the mall (and saw our Vandenberge friends at Stride Rite!) before coming home for (non-overlapping) naps. I started to feel pretty bad after lunch, then worse and worse and worse until I was literally rocking in front of the front window, praying for Matt to drive up. It was just a little bit of a late day for him, but it felt like forever! The Tylenol kicked in at some point so I made it through the evening as a blob on the couch. My temp was 100.8 before Tylenol on Monday. I slept very badly and the night lasted forever, but I did get some sleep. I called the doctor's office when they opened in the morning and made an appointment for 11:15, the earliest they had. My extremely wonderful mother came over to take care of the girls (and me!) on Tuesday. The doc confirmed it was strep and said I had the nastiest tonsils she'd seen in a long time. Great. She prescribed Zithromax, which is kind of cool in theory because you only have to take it for 5 days. However, it did not sit well with me and I was sick (on top of being sick) for about 6 or 7 hours Tuesday afternoon/evening. Oh, it was so awful. The doctor's office said I could split the pills the rest of the days to make it easier on my stomach. Wish I thought to ask about that before I took the first dose -- things that can make you sick to your stomach pretty much always make me sick to mine. Because I'm nursing and allergic to augmentin, it's the only option for strep, apparantly. I woke up this morning still feeling awful, but my wonderful mother was back to take care of us again! I was able to eat this morning, so I did! I wanted my stomach to be nice and full before I took that first half of the antibiotic. At about 10:00, something wonderful happened: the fog lifted and I felt human for the first time in a couple of days! I still have aches, a sore throat, and swollen glands, but oh man, do I feel better. Hopefully I'll feel more and more better every day. I can tell my girls miss me hugging and kissing on them. And Joanna really wants to mooch what I'm eating!
