James’ obsession is Thomas the Train and all his friends. We’ve watched every episode (I think) available on Netflix each nine million times. He just loves loves the characters. We have a few engines, and they are his very favorite things to play with. Awhile back he was absolutely convinced Percy was a girl and would not accept correction. After many conversations, I finally convinced him that Percy was a boy by telling him that Emily was a girl. And so he became rather obsessed with Emily, even though we didn’t have one. I thought about getting one, but just kept not doing it. :)
One day, a sweet friend dropped off an Emily the Train for James!! He loooooooooves her, and that’s putting it mildly. :)
I’m not sure how to describe this face, but he does it pretty often. It’s his “I’m cracking up because this is so funny and wonderful” face. Basically.
The wooden engines he has are Thomas, Percy, James, and Emily. He also has some of the metal ones – Thomas, Bertie the bus, Diesel, Dennis, and Mighty Max. I think. :) Right now the track was just getting in the way and was all over the place so it’s all in the closet. All the trains are happy to drive on tables, chairs, legs, the floor, whatever…
We have some “plain” cars as well that sometimes get in on the fun, but mostly he just plays with the engines. It’s very much like they are his “dolls.”
I love him.
And it will be so very easy to shop for his birthday. There are lots of engines on the Island of Sodor. :)
