I opted for a cake-mix cake this year. I had a little much on my plate (for me anyway!) and this was one less thing to worry about. My sister prompted me to get a “funfetti” mix, and it was a hit!
Nothing fancy this year, just colorful sprinkles and a “2” candle.
Here we are singing to Natalie.
She loved being sung to.
I slid it closer so she could “blow” out the candles.
I tried to time my actual blowing it out with her attempt.
She loved it!
Mamma helped her dig in!
We were blessed with lots of family at the party, including TWO big picture takers!! Thank you thank you David and Renee!
Got to clean up!
A shot of the cake and ice cream – yum!
We were pretty much able to get by without any plastic/paper goods. (Yay Earth!) I believe we had to wash a few spoons in the middle and I think one or two pieces of cake/ice cream were consumed on some paper plates we had laying around.
We have plenty of glasses, and at the last minute I discovered how to “label” them so people could keep the same one and not have to hold it all evening – painter’s tape! It stuck well, was easy to write on, and came off easily!
