Last Tuesday was Rodeo Day at school! I couldn’t stay for the festivities, but I wanted to make sure and take a picture of Joanna in her bandana that she made!
On Thursday first thing the preschoolers gathered to sing “campfire” songs in the gym. I was able to stay for that!
You can barely see Joanna here; I didn’t want to get real close and bug her. :) I think the crowd of moms and dads is funny. :)
I took a few videos too; I actually haven’t watched them yet, but I may post one if they’re cute.
Joanna loves to sing and knows most of the songs, but she spent most of the campfire time watching everything around her.
Thursday evening was open house at SLC. I had rehearsal that night so I opted to just bring Joanna, then let her play in the nursery while I sang. I figure Natalie didn’t know she was missing out, and I really didn’t want to keep her and James out late. They stayed at home with Matt and went to bed!
Joanna’s sweet smile, showing me her classroom:
Then Amy offered to take our picture. Ignore me.
At school the kids have little jars with their names that hold rocks. They get rocks for making good decisions and rocks taken away for bad choices. I think we they have five rocks they can trade them in for a Hershey kiss! Joanna LOVES that. :) I don’t know why her jar and Anna’s jar are different than everyone else’s. They are two peas, after all.
Stopping for a quick ride on a leftover rocking horse.
We also visited Natalie’s class, even though we didn’t have Natalie with us. We gathered some of her artwork and photos. I will have to scan in (or take a picture of) the couple of pics of Natalie from her Rodeo day. They are VERY CUTE!
I love that the kiddos love school. We just registered for the fall last weekend. We budget a little every month for the registration fees due, so we aren’t caught off guard, and as I was thinking about if we need to adjust the amount for next year, it occurred to me that this will be Joanna’s last year at SLC. We won’t be registering her next spring for the fall. We’ll be getting ready for Kindergarten.

Okay, freak out moment over. :) This fall, Joanna will go on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays 9-12. On Tuesdays she’ll have extended day until 2:30 so her schedule matches with Natalie and James who will attend on Tuesdays only. (Ray will too!) So yes, if you’re doing your math, that will leave me with zero kids on Tuesdays. I’m going to sub some at SLC, but I bet I will end up with the occasional day all to myself. You know, that’s never happened before. I don’t know what I’ll do. :)
