Mary and Joseph and Baby Jesus

There has been a live nativity at the church in some way, shape, or form every year that I can remember.  And I have to be honest with you: even before I had kiddos, I wanted to play Mary.

And this year, I got to.  Mr. James was the perfect age to be baby Jesus, so Matt and I got to play his parents!

James was awake when we pulled up to the church, but in all our wanderings around to find something to wear, he fell asleep.  Yay!

He even stayed asleep as I pulled off his jacket and swaddled him up!

And amazingly, he slept through the whole hour!

I held him the whole time so I could jiggle him around if he fussed, but when we finished up, I wanted to put him in the manger.

He slept through that too.

Awwww…

It was fun to watch the kiddos go through and hear the Christmas story.

Joanna got to come and see us.  She kept our secret.  :)

It’s funny, as her class was leaving, I swear her teachers had to say “Joanna…” many many times.  I could tell by their tone they must have to do that a lot.  Or maybe it was a fluke.  A girl can hope.  :)
