On Friday I got to go to the KUMC Women’s Retreat! I had been thinking for awhile it would be very cool to go, but in the last few years I have been nursing a baby or imminently due at the time of the retreat. :) This year though, I was ready!
I drove up with Lisa, Candice, and Amy, and we stopped at Theresa’s on the way to love on Baby Lily. I tried to convince Theresa and Chris to let me put her in my pocket and take her home, but they didn’t go for it. :)
She is sooooooooo cute!
And I have a funny story about Baby Lily and Natalie, even though they haven’t met yet. Last week we had to have the A/C guy out to repair our furnace, and his name is Billy Lilley. The girls knew he was coming, but when he showed up, Natalie acted very confused and asked where “she” was. She had mixed up Billy Lilley and Baby Lily! She wanted to know where her mommy was and kept asking about her. It was hilarious… and kind of embarrassing. :) I think she is still confused, poor girl.
It took us awhile to get out where we were going with the rush hour traffic, but it was a nice trip up (down?) with some girlfriends!
The retreat was held at a beautiful convention center kind of place on some property – very nice! And the weather was gorgeous. We ate dinner, got settled, and pretty much headed to our rooms on Friday night. It was nice to get into our jammies and chat with friends!
Saturday morning was the full day of the retreat, filled with yummy meals, engaging speakers, and perhaps a nap. :)
At some point Amy was playing with Instagram on her phone:
My friends Kimberly and Shaun were also there – aren’t we a cute “young mom” bunch?! (I stole the next couple of pictures from Candice.)
In our room. Candice called this picture “skipping school” because, well… we were. :)
We did some resting and chatting in the afternoon on Saturday. We were tired!
After dinner and worship, we spent some more time visiting in a common room with a fire in the fireplace. So nice!
Saturday night I think we all slept very well; it was hard to get up! But we did, and pretty soon we headed home. It sure was nice to snuggle all my kiddos when I got back! (And do some laundry, pick up toys, rearrange furniture, and so on!)
The best part is that Matt is taking tomorrow off, so we’ll have some family time. Wahoo! So, night all; I’m going to clean up the kitchen before I relax on the couch for the evening.
What a great weekend!
So jealous
