Joanna has NO FEAR

and sometimes that gets her into trouble.
Yesterday was a double birthday party day for us. First we went to Anna's house to celebrate her 2nd birthday! She had a princess party (Yea!), and something that all princesses love to do is JUMP!

Oh, what fun it is to jump!

I was trying to get a good shot of Joanna in a princess crown. A little boy had put one on her, and she actually kept in on for a while. While taking this picture, however, I realized that Joanna was eating WHOLE GRAPES off of somebody's plate. Yikes! She was absolutely fine; she's a very good chewer. But anyway, I did not get a good shot of the crown. Oh, well. Mmmmm... lunch. I love this age now where we can leave the house without food when we're headed somewhere to eat. Joanna can eat just about anything, and she's even getting pretty good at sitting in regular chairs. I still love having her strapped into a high chair or booster seat, though! Now for the big incident of the day: Joanna was playing outside on Anna's back porch. Matt and I were both right there, sitting at the little table on the patio. I only saw it out of the corner of my eye, but basically she fell off the back step onto the porch (cement) and scraped her face. It looked nastier and grodier than it really was. We brought her in and got her all cleaned up, complete with a bandage!
I've used Hydrogen Peroxide on her before, and I like to in situations like this where outside grody stuff may be hanging out in the scrape. This is the first time she's told me it hurts -- I think this is her biggest scrape, though. She says "owie" and "boo boo." It's very cute.
After that we got to have cake, so life was pretty good again. Then we went home for a little nap before Jacob's 4th birthday party at Jumpin' Joey's! Like I mentioned, Joanna has no fear. However, at a place this this where everything is made of plastic and air, it's okay. My wonderful daughter kept her big bandaid on her head the WHOLE time we were there. I don't mind it being uncovered when we're at home, but a fresh, open wound at a place like this? No way.
A giraffe!

Ready to slide.
Sliding is so much fun!
Climbing is so much fun, too!
After lots of jumping fun (even Matt and I got in a little on the action), we had pizza and juice! Yea! Then we headed home around 5pm. I gotta tell you, I love days when I haven't had to fix lunch or dinner for my family. :) We had an absolute blast on our party day. Happy birthday Anna and Jacob!

Since we'd already had dinner, we stopped in at HEB for a little grocery shopping. Joanna LOVES to drive the car carts at HEB. At home at last, enjoying the party loot.
Yea for parties!

  1. She is so stinkin' cute! I love that she's wearing the little ring in the next to last pic!

Are you allowed to jump on bouncy things when you're pregnant? I'm just curious. We're planning to take Josh to a toddler gym play night on Friday, and I was wondering if I'm allowed to jump on their stuff? Do you know?

Also, Josh and I will be visiting Kingwood next week, and if we aren't busy every day, do you want to try to get together? It would be great to see you again!
Just emmail me or call sometime.
