1st Haircut!

I've been meaning to take my child to have her hair cut, but hadn't gotten around to it. I didn't want to make an appointment and then not be able to go (due to childbirth). We also have a pretty busy schedule and the salon was closed a bit over the holidays. Finally this morning I made an appointment for this afternoon. We went to Glitz and Glam, this cute little salon for girls, which unfortunately is going out of business. So this was likely Joanna's first and last haircut there. We had a very good experience.
First, some pictures of my scraggle-muffin: She sure is cute, but her hair was in her eyes in the front and pretty stringy in the back. She's actually been pretty good about wearing bows lately, but that doesn't completely solve the problem.
When we got in, she got to put on a cute pink robe!
Then up in the big chair! None of this fazed Joanna in the slightest.
She sat really still and happily let the lady do her work.
Of course she wanted a little snack while she sat there.
She was so good! We collected some clippings in an envelope for the scrapbook, and we even got a certificate for her "first salon visit." How cute!
And of course a little glitter to finish it off!
Close-up glitter shot -- it's a little hard to tell that's what it is.
Mommy and Joanna:
I'll post some pics in the next few days that give you a better idea, but here's the new do from the back. It doesn't really look different, just less scraggely, and very cute! I love it!

I'll definitely keep taking her to salons for the all-over cuts, but I may be brave enough to trim her bangs when they start to get into her eyes again. We'll see... Joanna is generally more well-behaved for other people than she is for me. :)

  3. Cute, cute! Too bad they're going out of business! What a neat experience, though? Poor Paul David only got a sucker...no pink robe, no glitter! I'm sure he's cool with that though!
