I also tried a new bread recipe using bread flour. I actually haven't tasted it yet, but the two loaves are very pretty!
I decided to do tacos for dinner so I also made a dozen tortillas. This time I used half whole wheat half all-purpose. They turned out great, but I'm not sure I would want to put any more whole wheat in them; they were pretty dense. In our tacos we put:
1/2lb ground sirloin
~1lb rice and beans I had frozen from a week or so ago
I mixed the meat and rice and beans in the skillet with some taco seasoning. Yum.
spinach
avocado
and of course, cheese!
Matt also added some of my dad's homemade salsa. They were pretty tasty!
I've cleaned up a little in the kitchen but it's still kind of a pit. My legs are hurting though! I'm working on building up my cooking stamina. :) I'm not used to standing in my kitchen all day. So I'm going to putz on the computer some more, then go clean. (Maybe) Fortunately tomorrow is a day off for us; I should be able to clean some in the morning.
I have lots more to post; I'll ramble more then!
you're awesome!
ReplyDeleteanother yummy thing: mix baked chicken (shredded/chopped), most of a jar of mild (or however hot you want it) salsa, a can of black beans, and a cup or two of cheddar or mex blend cheese together. put generous scoops of the mixture in tortillas in skillet and fold over, cooking on both sides of the folded tortilla. serve w/ sour cream or guac. very tasty...you can also put some corn in it.
