This fall I will (hopefully, if they make!) be teaching Musikgarten classes at the church. I LOVE this curriculum and am so excited about not only involving my children in the classes, but seeing music impact others as well!
If you’re not familiar with Musikgarten, you can click here for some background information.
Here is some information, taken from KUMC’s webpage about the baby classes this fall. {I’ll do separate posts about the toddler and cycles classes.}
First Sounds: Family Music for Babies (Newborn - 18 months)
Designed for parents and their babies to take together, these classes help you learn how to play musically with your baby. Each class features bouncing and rocking songs, wiggle and peak-a-boo games, and other fun activities for the two of you. When you go home, you can continue the fun with a superb CD recorded by a fine children's choir and outstanding instrumentalists. Using your parent guidebook along with rhythm sticks, a Musikgarten rattle, and colorful scarf will give you both hours of enjoyment. Musikgarten's musical play for babies:
- Increases your baby's curiosity about music
- Develops listening skills & sense of beat
- Establishes foundation for singing & musical thought
- Helps you form a closer bond with your baby
- Gives you and your baby a chance to interact with other parents and babies
Listed below are the class times. You can click on the times to be taken to the registration page, where you can easily register online.
