Playing and grilling and cravings

Matt has been doing quite a bit of grilling lately.  It gets him cooking instead of me, and it keeps the food smell out of my house.

Last week I was really craving diner fries, but these “grill fries” did the trick!

At some point I got myself a Chic-fil-a kid’s meal, and it came with this 3-D I-spy type book.

James was so tickled.  :)

He and Natalie play so sweetly when they’re at home alone.  They were taking care of babies one day.  James climbed on the changing table and pulled out the disposable diapers to get them all fixed up.

Then I guess Natalie was in charge of nap time.

James personifies his cars and trucks and trains.  (Personify might not be quite the right word, but it’s very close.)  Anyway… they were all having smoothies at this meeting, if I remember correctly.

Last week – “week 6” of the pregnancy – I actually felt pretty good, on the nausea front.  It wasn’t overpowering, and I felt hungry pretty often.  I was having mad cravings though; I felt like I was pretty much living from craving to craving.  On Thursday night I started craving Chinese food from Oriental Gardens.  By the time they opened on Friday, I was in some serious need!  There were lots o’ kids here, so I had some delivered for myself!

It really really really hit the spot (and I didn’t eat it all at once).  Over the weekend I got back to feeling pretty yucky all the time (boo!), but it could be a stomach bug.  Natalie just got over one.  Here’s hoping it will pass quickly!

Anyway… let’s see how many things I can think of that I craved last week.  I shall make a list.

  • chargrilled Chicken wrap with honey mustard dressing from Chick-fil-a
  • Lay’s potato chips
  • Funyons (the chips; can’t remember how to spell them)
  • A&W root beer
  • Rolos (currently craving these)
  • Whole milk chocolate milk (this one’s current)
  • pork fried rice
  • Original chicken sandwich from CFA
  • clementine oranges
  • diner fries
  • Pop tarts

Most of the time after I have something I crave (or even if I don’t have it), I have zero desire for it even the next day.

Although that fried rice in the picture is looking pretty good.  :)
