We didn’t do much out of the ordinary on Spring Break, which is really good, because mostly I felt nasty all week. At the beginning of the week I was still getting over a bad cold and morning all-day sickness set in. :(
But I was VERY happy to have my Joanna home all week!!!
On Thursday our friends who’ve moved to Austin and are about to move to Florida came into town to play. I didn’t take any pictures of her three and my three playing. :( Bad momma blogger. :)
But I did take a picture of Natalie riding Joanna like a horse.
On Friday Matt took the day off. Joanna had requested a trip to The Woodlands, and we thought – why not?!
We didn’t ride this cruiser, but we did enjoy watching it. :)
The boys:
The girls:
On a side note: I think I’m going to dye my hair back to it’s natural color so that I have to neither keep up with coloring it blonde while preggo nor watch it slowly grow out – ew. I’m a little sad though; I love the blonde. :)
We ate lunch at Sweet Tomatoes, one of our favorite places. The kids did really well, except for all the spilling of the ice water. :) I didn’t take any pictures there.
We went to the mall – the kids love to play in the big play place.
He almost always had his tongue sticking out of his mouth like this.
It was very crowded, and I did not appreciate seeing the multitude of kids over 6 in there. But no one was regulating that. And fortunately no one got hurt or anything.
After the mall we drove to Trader Joe’s, which was a long enough trip for James to fall asleep. Matt stayed in the car while the girls and I went inside.
They love having their own shopping carts!
We picked up some goodies and headed home. The kids did so great in the car, and it was a lovely day! I have little memory of the rest of the day; I was feeling pretty bad, and I’m pretty sure I entered some kind of coma while Matt fixed dinner for everybody.
I must have woken up at some point to help the girls with their new earrings. When we were at the mall I stopped into Claire’s and let the girls pick out some clip-on and stick-on earrings. I had intended for that to be part of Joanna’s birthday present, but I never made it to the mall.
They were so happy. :)
Natalie picked out pink butterflies, and Joanna picked out unicorns.
We haven’t broken out the stick-on earrings yet, but I ready for a blast from my past! Anybody else remember wearing those when they were bitty?
The second weekend of spring break, we were doing triple dog duty! We had Junior at our house; my mom and David were out of town; and I was taking care of a friend of David’s two Yorkies.
It was a very busy weekend, but it was good to be helpful (and make some extra cash!)
We finished up our duties with Didi, Sarah, and the yorkies on Monday morning after we dropped Joanna off at school. Natalie and James were such good helpers!
I couldn’t resist putting Natalie (barefoot and in her jammies) in front of Mom and David’s gorgeous azaleas. So pretty!
I seem to be feeling better this week, which I am extremely thankful for. I have managed to do my taxes and vacuum over the last couple of days.
I could go for a nap though. :)
