Tea with Jam and Bread

The kids love when Junior comes over to stay for awhile.

I often find one of them over by him, just looking.  It’s pretty sweet.

On Friday the girls and I spotted a cockroach in the corner of the living room, so I sprayed it.  He of course then needed to run to the middle of the living room carpet to actually die.  I am not yet at the point in my journey toward cockroach evolvement to take care of the carcass, so I convinced Joanna to put a bowl over it.  And then the girls stacked a bunch of books on top, for good measure.

And it remained that way until Matt got home.  :)

And this is totally random, but the past couple of days I’ve had a hankering for tea, tea with jam, jam and bread.

Yum.

I’ve been pretty sick (and whiney and puny and icky) the last several days.  I have diagnosed myself with a bad cold, but since I have no actual medical training, it could be anything.  :)

I think I feel just a little bit less like death this evening than I have in a couple of days.  (Hopefully a sign of good things to come!)  I am SO SO SO GLAD I’ve felt the worst since Matt got home for the weekend.  Not that I want Matt to have to deal with me at my worst, but because with a little coaching, he’s taken over the preparation of all food.  I really have no business putting my hacking, sneezing, snotty self anywhere near anyone else’s food.

Martha’s kids are sick too (sorry babies!!), so I won’t have them tomorrow.  I am definitely NOT glad they’re sick, but I am glad I didn’t have to try and decide whether I should work tomorrow.

On another sad note, our dryer went out.  I’m hopeful we can fix it since I really really really do not want a new dryer.  I like my old dryer.  It’s paid for.  And it’s already there, in my laundry room.  I really do dry a lot of clothes outside, and happily, but there are some loads that just work best in the dryer.  Thankfully Matt’s mom was happy to dry a couple of loads for us today, since it was too wet for the sun to do it.

{That’s probably enough whining for one post.}

On a happy note, I’ve made some progress in the book I’m reading, with plenty of laying on the couch yesterday and today.  And the children have, for the most part, been playing so incredibly sweetly together.  I love watching them play!
