The time has come...

...or it is coming, at least. My big girl is headed for the potty trained club. I bought some "big girl" panties a while back, and we decided to break 'em out tonight. Joanna LOVES sitting on the potty -- LOVES it. Unfortunately she always seems to want to go when I'm sitting down nursing or something. So I'm going to work the next couple of days on making the bathroom really kid friendly so that I don't have to be right there when she wants to go, I can just be close by. She frequently likes to just go and sit after she's gone in her diaper. The panties are useful (theoretically anyway) in making it uncomfortable to be wet and hopefully get her to the point where she gets to the potty before she goes. We may actually go all panties this weekend -- we'll see. I'm not sure if she's actually ready (read: I don't really need advice at this time), but she's so positive about it right now that I kind of want to take advantage of that.

Here's my girl in her panties! I figure the all white ones will be easier to clean than the disney princesses or Nemo or whatever, and these are pretty thick and soft. Yes, the pictures coming up are the ones she will kill me for later. Oh, the joys of being a mother! :)

Guess who went pee pee on the potty just minutes after wearing big girl panties for the first time?! Yup!!
And now we flush the pee pee away! (That's part of the fun, you know). She's naked because we'd just had the bath, FYI.

A few minutes later she went on the floor. Oh well. She was actually headed to the bathroom, though, so that's good. She cried and cried when it was time to put on the overnight diaper. So she's wearing panties over her diaper tonight. Whatever makes you happy kid.
