Last Day of School

Tuesday was James and Natalie’s last day of school for the school year.  I subbed for the last 30 minutes of Natalie’s class and I didn’t manage to get a picture of her with the teacher who left, Miss Lori.  Here she is with Miss Nancy:

Only one of James’ teachers was there when I went to grab him as well.  He wanted to give his customary goodbye fishie kisses to Miss Kathleen – love him!!

I wasn’t exactly on the ball with our end of year gifts/thank you notes, but since Joanna still had one more day, I gave myself some slack.  :)

Wednesday we put everything together.  I had the kiddos color paper to be turned into cards for their teachers.

I’m pretty impressed with James’ coloring!

Normally I am definitely of the thought that toddlers and markers don’t mix… but this was a special occasion.  :)

I forgot to take a picture of the finished products until I was on the way today.  So I chose one at random and broke it open.  They’re all basically the same.  This one happens to be from Natalie.  Her artwork on the outside:

Inside a picture of her making her artwork, and it says her name and age underneath.  I wrote a note (which I do not want the “whole world” reading) on the right.  And because I’m so addicted to Sonic drinks, I put a little gift card inside to share the love.  :)

I was able to leave James at my mom’s house to make the quick run to pick up Joanna and deliver our notes at noon today.  Natalie wanted to come with me.  I was able to get a picture of her with Miss Lori.

Natalie was looking around that room kind of in awe.  I’m not sure she realized until today that her teachers and her friends were there when she wasn’t.  It was kind of sad!  I am thankful she didn’t realize it until the last day of school though.  Otherwise I may have been checking to see if there were open spots on those other days!

When I walked into Joanna’s classroom (for the last time – boo hoo!!), she was singing “Tootie Ta” so I got a few pics of that.  It’s a cute little song where they do all these funny motions.

As I was driving away from the church, I did get a bit teary eyed thinking this was the very last time I would pick Joanna up from school there.

Of course I’m likely to spend the next dozen years picking her up from other things at the church, so I can’t get too sad!

I have a bunch of pictures of the graduation which was tonight, and I’ll put them in a separate post.  It will most likely get published tomorrow.  We’ll see…
