Well… it isn’t perfect, but I say it’s far better than having no pictures on the wall. :)
I really wanted to get some of the old pictures I’d scanned up on the wall to enjoy (and due to some furniture arranging, I had a patch of empty wall). I laid out the frames in the basic pattern I wanted, then started adding old pictures from the photo box. I hadn’t originally intended it, but I ended up using all black and white shots. I’ll have to sprinkle some of the color ones elsewhere in the house.
I bought eight 4x6 frames at IKEA on Saturday, and I didn’t really realize it until I got home that the matte was about a 3x4 – PERFECT for so many of those old pictures!!
The lady on the right below is my great-great grandmother, Lucy Jane (Vowell) Sturman. At least according to my information. I love old pictures!!
If I don’t have a matte all ready to go, I’m very lazy about it. I just put white cardstock behind these photos:
The little girl is my mom.
I think my next photo project is to move all the children’s “school pictures” to one spot and put them in matching frames. That will free up some wall space in the dining room for some recent pictures of the kids. I still haven’t really printed anything I’ve taken with my new camera. Looking forward to it!
