Friday, because clearly I need a title intervention

Friday morning started out a little bit unusually.  Matt drove off to work and realized some reasonably large percentage of the way there that he had forgotten something important so he came back.  Whereupon returning to his car, he found it would not start.  Now, part of me is very grumpy about this.  But the smart, hindsightish part of me is like, “Whoa!  He could have been in Cleveland on Friday afternoon when it didn’t start.”  So I’m glad about that.  {And since the activities of this post, Matt’s car has been fixed due in large part to the talents of his nephew.  And a new starter.  Yay Josh!}

So anyway, Pop came over with jumper cables to see if the car just needed a jump.  {It did not.}  I let James take his breakfast to the front window so he could watch, but after all the activity, he settled on the coffee table.  I’m thankful it was a pancake and banana morning, and not an oatmeal morning.  :)

What ended up happening is that Pop took Matt to get Mamma’s car to take to work.  And they dropped Joanna off at school on the way!

I gathered my little ducks and took them to Gran’s house so I could go get my checkup/bloodwork done quite alone.

When we all came back, no one had broken into the house to fold the laundry.  :(

We did not stop at McDonald’s for lunch, but we DID stop for a Dr. Pepper for me and ice water for the kids.  It’s amazing how happy they are to drink ice water out of a new and different cup.  If you look closely, you can see they have each stuck their fork in the top of their straw.  They are hilarious.

At some point in the day, this lady bug came in on my shoulder.  It may have been right after I murdered thousands of ants on my driveway with boiling water.

We walked to pick up Joanna – we missed her!  {She holding up her hand because she sees us, but she’s not allowed to just hop up and walk off.}

James is just so stinkin’ funny.  He loves to put these socks on his hands.

She’s almost six you know.

Originally in the day he was wearing overalls, but they suffered a leaky diaper, so for whatever reason, I put on these shorts.  And they just reach the tops of his boots.  And don’t forget the green sock-gloves.

It was a beautiful day, and I found myself with a burst of energy in the middle of it – hallelujah!
