How Your Baby’s Growing (from Babycenter.com):
Your baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.
How far along: 17 weeks
Pregnancy symptoms: diminished eyesight, expanding belly
Food Cravings: chocolate, French fries
Sleep: good! I just need to make myself go to bed earlier.
Measurement: measuring tape’s at home; I’ll try to remember to do it later
Movement: I think I’m feeling more at this point than I was with Joanna but less than I was with Natalie. I know with Joanna the placenta was in the way of my feeling her early on. Maybe that’s the case now as well?
Labor signs: none
What I miss: I kind of miss being able to take meds or teas without checking to see if it’s okay while I’m pregnant. I really don’t mind this, of course, but I do miss just being able to pop some pills. :) Of course, there have only been two weeks since June of 2006 that I didn’t have to make sure something was okay to take while pregnant or nursing!
What I’m looking forward to: The Ultrasound!! I had it scheduled for the 24th, but decided to move it to the 25th to be safe. I may still be in Oklahoma on the 24th (If I make it there), and I don’t want to worry about it! I had to split my appointments, though. The ultrasound is on the 25th and my baby checkup with my doctor is the 26th.
Milestone: I was just thinking the other day that it’s really been a while since I was nauseous! (Now, I woke up this morning and threw up, but I think it was a fluke related to my bad headache.) So anyway, I really feel like I’m way past all the first trimester ickyness. It’s funny, I keep thinking this pregnancy is very “in-between” the other two. Sicker than Natalie, not as sick as Joanna. Sick longer than Natalie, not as long as Joanna, and so on.
Thoughts from the Girls: I posted this already, but it deserves a spot here as well. My mom and Joanna were talking about the baby, I guess, and Joanna said it was going to be a boy and she was going to name him Paci.
Doctor’s visit: not this week
I'm finding the same thing about my pregnancy...very in b/t the other two. can't wait to see what you're having!! and me, too!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, this is going by way too fast! This baby will be here before we know it!
