Wednesday

Wednesday morning I woke up (early – James’ has a new time clock I’m not a fan of) with a grody headache.  Boo!  I ate a piece of toast and managed to take some pain meds.  Pretty soon I was thankfully feeling functional.

The girls wanted their toenails painted, so I gave them a little pink coat with some sparkles while James was taking a nap.

To keep them still, I turned on a movie.  We watched Singing in the Rain together.  It was nice.  :)

Toward the end of the movie, my mom came over to bring us some leftover ribs and brisket – yum!

Even right up from his nap, James was so happy to snuggle with Gran!

Look, she’s got all three of them in her lap!

I had a hankering for pizza, I guess because after my mom left I started making some.  Before I finished Ray came over and everybody hungry and grumpy.  Ahhhhh!  Fortunately it didn’t long, and everybody loved the brisket/zucchini/spinach pizza with cheddar cheese over half pizza sauce (cause that’s how much I had) and half olive oil all spread on top of a whole wheat crust made from freshly ground whole wheat flour.  I used all those words because I didn’t take a picture.  :)

When Ray is here, this is how the nap set up usually works.  Ray sleeps in a pack-n-play in my room; James sleeps in his crib; Natalie sleeps on the couch in the playroom; Joanna has her “rest time” in the entryway.  See her little set up?

I love it if I can get 30 minutes all by myself in the living room.  Then sometimes Joanna will join me and read books on the couch until more kiddos are awake.  Usually though, one or two of them just barely sleep the 30 minutes.  I always joke that Natalie is my favorite around naptime.  She is just such a good napper!

Here is just a random picture of James from the afternoon.  The color is awful, but I like it anyway.  :)

I can’t believe it but it rained again in the afternoon.  The diapers were mostly dry when I had to bring them in.  We’ve had rain here three times since Saturday!  I know others even in Kingwood have only had one of those.  So strange!

After dinner it had definitely stopped raining so Matt went out back with the girls so they could splash around in their pool and water table.  It was so buggy though that the girls managed to get a few bites even with bug spray.  :(  Today we’re going to drain the pool (and try to get some of the water on plants that need it).  Then we’ll let it and the grass dry out a bit before we fill it up again.
