Feeling very lucky, maybe even indulgent

There are sooooo many people in our area still without power, and many who don't even have drinkable water. We have everything: power, cable, and just recently internet. Even though I do not feel worthy to have everything back up and running, I'm very very grateful. Our power went out yesterday for about 25 minutes. I was worried, but resigned. I knew we could live through it again if necessary. Here's a pic from this weekend that I haven't posted yet. My Aunt Mary and my cousins Emma and Marianna stopped in Houston on their way from Hawaii (on vacation) to London (home). They were just at my Grandma's overnight, but we got the chance to go over and wake them up Saturday morning for a visit. Joanna kind of has a scowl in this picture (at least she's looking at the camera!), but everyone else looks great! I forgot to say thank you guys when I saw you for the sweet note you sent a little while back. It's in the new baby's book next to this picture. Love you all! Hope you see you soon, Ellen, we missed you this trip.

Today is normally a Young Mom's Bible study day. Due to childcare issues and other craziness, we couldn't really have it, but we were able to have a sort of play day instead. It was originally planned for the playground, but with the hotness and the rampant mosquitos, we moved inside to the Fellowship Hall. It was fabulous! There were kiddos from just younger than Joanna up to early elementary. Everyone had a great time. The wonderful thing about the Fellowship Hall is that you can completely close it off -- no escapees. There was lots of space to run and play, and we even got sandwiches, juice, and goldfish! I brought my laptop and used the church's internet. I got a little work done, then I checked email and stuff while Joanna played. Just getting started:
