(Written Sunday evening, copied verbatim today)
We were given a generator this afternoon! I feel almost normal right now. The fridge/freezer is cooling down, the fan is blowing, and a tiny black and white TV is showing me hurricane coverage. If we can keep the generator gassed up, we'll be in really good shape until the power comes back on -- which I hope is soon.
We went to church this morning. We had just one service at 11:00 in the Sanctuary. There wasn't any power, it was prtty hot, and there was no nursery (!), but I"m so glad we went. Our pastor had a great message; there was a lot of scripture read and hymns sung. We also had the opportunity to catch up with our fellow members from the last few days and swap information about power, gas, and supplies.
