Joanna and I got in the car this morning to drive around. We needed to get out of the house. I really want to conserve gas, but we're cut off from everything, and we're both feeling cranky. We passed the very long lines at the HEBs in Kwd and Atas -- wow! We stopped at Target. It wasn't very busy at 9:15 or so. They didn't have any perishables, but we weren't there for food. We picked up a few things we were getting low on: toilet paper, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent. I also found a book I was looking for! I felt so NORMAL. Joanna and I walked up and down the toy isles -- looking at balls and babies. I htink this morning was the first time I'd heard her say "baby." So cute! With the cool weather and the generator, I feel almost normal. I'm itching to get on the internet, though.
I spent 1 hr 15 min on hold with Allstate (homeowners insur.) this morning. I'm thankful my phone worked. I made the call at 6:30am. I haven't been able to call anybody else since. Luckily, I got through and myade my claim. Joanna was VERY patient while I was on the phone. The lady helping me was VERY helpful and VERY sympathetic.
I think my ice maker has just made about 4 pieces of ice -- whoo hoo! We're a little worried we won't be able to keep the generator filled with gas. I'm happy to run it as long as we can. I love having my fridge -- I'm addicted.
