I think it was some kind of city official I saw on TV with a "hunker down"
cap. I've decided I want a "hunker down" t-shirt. Something like
Hunker Down with Ike 2008 printed below it.
We're well on our way back to normal, but not quite there yet. We're still
waiting on power to be restored. Any day now, I think. Any day. Up until yesterday
I wasn't really waiting on it, hoping for it. But last night I found myself
looking up at the ceiling fan everytime I woke up. It never turned on. Fortunately,
it is still blissfully cool this morning. This afternoon will be warmer, I know.
If we hadn't been without power this week, I know we wouldn't have appreciated
this cool front as much. I don't know that I'd still be here (meaning I
might have gone someplace else) if it wasn't for this fabulous cool weather.
I have lots (about 30 I think) pictures to post, but this internet connection is
way too slow. I'm using my mom's new air card, which connects to the cell
network. Since the cell network is still slammed, it's very difficult to be
on the internet. Also, I can't figure out how to compress pictures on my mom's
computer. She doesn't have anything in the way of editing software, and I can't
imagine the time needed to upload 30 very large pictures on a very slow connection.
