***Update: Yummo!! Bread is wonderful. Process was sooooo easy. I am not seeing a downside here. Except maybe that I will eventually have to bring the bread machine back to my grandma. :) Hee hee. My abs are also bound to get flabby again if I don't knead bread every so often.
Last night my grandma let me borrow her bread machine. I just took the dough out and am letting it rise again in the bread pan. Then I'll bake it. I'll have to update when we actually eat it. I used this recipe from Money Saving Mom since the amounts were already bread machine ready. The bread recipe I usually use needs to have some math done to it before I can use the bread machine. I have to say that so far it has be so incredibly easy. I will admit it feels a little like selling out and I won't be surprised if the bread isn't quite as delightful. However, if it's even close, it may be so totally worth it. I just measured ingredients, dumped them in the machine, and turned it on. There are almost no dirty dishes associated with this and no mess. It took an hour and a half. Now I'm letting it rise for another half hour or so before baking.
I reallly like making bread with my own hands and baking it in the oven. However, I'm thinking a little ahead to this summer when it will be 9000 degrees outside and I won't want to run my oven, especially during the day. I'm also thinking of how pregnant I'll be. :) Kneading may be just a little bit harder over the next several months. I'll have to take pictures, for sure!
Holy Cow - I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your post - guess what I just got *last* night???? A bread machine!! Girl, Sears has a Kenmore model in stainless on sale for $69. It was even displayed right smack in the mdidle of the aisle. I think I heard the hallelejuh chorus when I walked by it! Too funny as we were both talking about this just Saturday.
