28 Weeks
How Your Baby’s Growing (from Babycenter.com):
By this week, your baby weighs two and a quarter pounds (like a Chinese cabbage) and measures 14.8 inches from the top of her head to her heels. She can blink her eyes, which now sport lashes. With her eyesight developing, she may be able to see the light that filters in through your womb. She's also developing billions of neurons in her brain and adding more body fat in preparation for life in the outside world.
How far along: 28 weeks
Pregnancy symptoms: Braxton Hicks contractions, heartburn, back pain, feet pain
Food Cravings: fruit, chocolate, shakes
Sleep: still good, mostly
Measurement: sadly my weight is 181.5lbs (oh my goodness!!)
Movement: he’s a mover and a shaker, for sure!
Labor signs: not so much
What I miss: bending over – actually I guess I miss being able to bend over :)
What I’m looking forward to: at this point, I’m really looking forward to my newborn! I’m not ready for him to show up yet, but I’m getting very excited!
Milestone: Third Trimester!
Thoughts from the Girls: Natalie always wants to lift up my shirt/dress so she can kiss the baby brother belly; Joanna got a little nervous when it got down to it, but she had a couple of questions ready to ask the doctor today! She wanted to know when the baby brother was going to come out. A good question, I say!
Doctor’s visit: I had my 28 week visit this morning. I passed my glucose test – yay! My thyroid levels came back normal, and I’m a little anemic (what’s new!). The baby’s HR was about 160; my belly measured right on track. All in all, things are going well! My weight gain is ginormous; I’ll say I’m working on it, but we all know that’s not really true. I am working on keeping the junk out of the house though. More fruits and veggies! (And steak, for the low iron.)
