We had some, you see. We also had some cookie mix. I had actually bought a bag of sugar cookie mix back in February but never used it. Last week we found the time! It was pretty sweet. Joanna and Natalie each got an “Aidan cookie” from his birthday party last Saturday. (Literally a sugar cookie with a picture of Aidan on it!!) I of course ate Natalie’s on the way home. Please still love me. :) Anyway, Joanna’s actually lasted a couple of days on the counter before she got around to eating it. I told her she could have it after rest time, and she got up ready for it.
I told her she should give Natalie a bite, and she happily agreed. Amazingly, she remained happy and agreeable even after Natalie essentially stole the cookie and didn’t want to give it back. I thought Joanna would cry or grab it back or scream or whatever. Nope. She said something along the lines of “It’s okay if she eats my cookie.” Man, that child melts my heart. She is so giving and loving.
It’s at this point I brought out the cookie mix and icing. I have to admit, I was coveting the Aidan cookie a little bit. And I thought Joanna would enjoy helping me make them, especially since her cookie had just gotten eaten.
The icing even came with some sprinkles!
Joanna only wanted to put frosting on hers and Natalie’s. Then she was ready to eat! I had to frost the rest. :)
mmmmmmm!!
And tonight I used up some of the leftover frosting to make one of my very favorite comfort foods.
I’m not exactly sure when in life I discovered this particular flavor combo, but it’s delightful. Ritz cracker with peanut butter and chocolate frosting. Oh man.
They were really good.
