I received 9 votes. 6 of you voted that Natalie was the best traveler; 3 voted for Joanna. Most of you voted the way I would have, had I not been on the trip. I would have been wrong. Natalie did NOT care for the long car ride AT ALL. In fact, I think she has a little PTSD from it. She still cries when we put her in the seat; she doesn't know we're just taking a quick ride to the church. She did okay on the way up there, but on the way home she cried the last 4 hours of the trip. This combined with my complete exhaustion made for not a very fun day. More on that later, though.
Joanna was really wonderful in the car. She ate, she slept a little, she watched videos, she sang songs, she asked questions. Of course, she whined a little in there, too. She handled it so much better than I would have thought. I'm pretty sure the major reason Natalie suffered so much was her age. She was facing backward: boring! She also hates being on her back. When she's on the floor she's on her belly; when she sleeps, she's on her belly. The carseat is not a fun place for extended time for her.
